InterconnectMonitor
Monitoring 8 US regions · 4 from your research vault

The AI data-center buildout is a power-delivery race.

Interconnection access — not chips — is the binding constraint. This monitor tracks the utility & ISO/RTO queues feeding the regions building AI compute, and is careful to separate the two numbers everyone conflates: data-center load requested (gross queue inflow — padded) from load actually energized, and benchmarks both against deliverable generation per quarter.

Read the numbers right. Across these regions ~48 GW/qtr of data-center load is requested, but only ~1.8 GW/qtr actually energizes — a 4% realization rate. Queues are heavily padded (projects duplicate across ISOs; most never get built). The “requested” figures are a leading indicator of intent; the “energized” figures are physical reality. We show both — never the request number as if it were a power deficit.

National pipeline — requested vs energized vs delivered

Sum across all tracked regions, by quarter. The faint rose towers are requests; the solid bars are what’s physically happening.
